Gynecologist!?

I’m getting married and I decided to go to the gynecologist for a routine check up, but I’m only 19 and I have no idea what to expect. 
I’m kind of freaking out! Anyone have any tips or some helpful advice?

They’ll do a breast exam, pelvic exam, and a pap (depending on the doctor). If you’re in America ACOG (American congress of obstetricians and gynecologists) make the age for a pap 23, so if you have a lazy doctor who just follows the bare minimum guidelines they will skip the pap. If you have a proactive doctor they will do it. It can be a little uncomfortable. They will put lube on a speculum (most have pediatric size so if you’re a virgin or have a small vaginal opening they will use that - they use one on me still) and insert it into your vagina. They then put a little brush and rub your cervix with it to get a cell sample to send to pathology to look for HPV and any precancerous cells. They can also do an STD panel (urine, blood, and/or swab depending on which ones you wish to be tested for). The breast exam is quick - they’ll feel each breast while you put you arm up and examine to see if there are any notable skin changes. 
I worked in gynecology and we did 30 of these daily. There’s nothing they haven’t seen so try not to be nervous, and good luck!

Idk if they will do a pap ad you gotta be 21. They will probably just a pelvic exam (maybe) are you a Virgin? Maybe an std panel if not.

I don’t think you can get a Pap smear until you’re 21. It’s the new law. My mother even tried to get me one and I was 20 at the time and they told her I needed to wait until I was 21 even though I have been sexually active. 
Also, I just went to the doctors today and tried to get a yearly Pap smear done. They told me that if your most recent Pap smear was clear they don’t require you to get one done for another 3 years unless you are really concerned about something. This is also new.. in case nobody knows..
