Scared to confess to my crush

Fun story: in preschool I had a best friend and we even pretended to get married but after preschool I lost connection with him. This year we reconnected because he was friends with my best friend and posted a pic of us from preschool wondering where I was. He is now a good friend of mine and we have hung out a lot but I am starting to catch feelings for him. I want to confess that I like him but I’m scared to be rejected or to ruin our friendship. Any advice?
