Have GoFundMe's gone too far?

I found one today, for a family expecting twins. They have a photo of their family which included 3 kids over at least age 12 and a toddler. I was appalled that they are asking for $50,000!! I admit, I judged just by the picture. When I read the description, it specifies that they are expecting twins - both of whom will have Down syndrome. I am curious to hear some opinions, whether you agree or disagree with my opinion. Mine is this (and it is not meant to offend or hurt people) -  it takes one hell of a parent(s) to raise a child with a mental or physical disability. I have already decided myself that if I were to get tested while pregnant and it was life altering, I would abort. I do not push my personal decisions on others what so ever - I applaud you to have the strength to give your child a full happy life! Some people won't abort because of pride or religion, which I understand and support. But whatever your choice be (to abort, etc or not), if you can't provide for those babies I don't think it is right to ask for money (let alone $50K) from strangers using the unborn child's disability as a scapegoat.
