Baby’s face breaking out. Advice?

Baby is almost 3 weeks old. Over the last week, he has started having little bumps come up on his face. They started under his eyes and are now on his forehead as well. They look like little pimples. His forehead is super dry as well. It seems to be worse when he gets hot and after his bath. Can I put lotion on his face? Could it be the soap even if he doesn’t have the spots anywhere else on his body? What could be the cause? How can I help heal it?

It’s baby acne! And it’s caused by the rush of hormones that babe is experiencing, just like you are 🙂 It will clear up on its own, definitely don’t try to pop them. When my babe had his I would put some breast milk on his spots and they seemed to clear up faster, but I can’t guarantee that’s really a thing (it’s one of those breast milk “remedies” that most breastfeeding moms swear by). Otherwise I didn’t put anything else on his face!

Answer

It's normal and there isn't much you can do about it. It will go away on it's own if you leave it be. If the skin is dry you can use a little bit of aquaphore but you don't want to use too much or too often.
