Do you have a better relationship with your own mother or your MIL?

Question

I always see posts about women being irritated with their mother-in-laws especially in regards to how they act when wanting to be in their grandchildren’s lives. I’m the opposite though and actually have a better/closer relationship with my mother-in-law than I do with my own mother. Anyone else this way?

I’m very close with my mother in law but noone can come close to my mama, she’s one of my best friends. Love them both dearly though.

I’m not SUPER close to my MIL, but I like her and feel more open with her than my own mother. My own mom just stresses me out. I don’t know how to tell my mom to back off once this baby is born, or that id rather my MIL be the one to visit and help out the first few weeks. 
I also know my mother judges and rolls her eyes at my SIL’s parenting, and will do what she wants when my SIL isn’t around. So I don’t trust her alone with my baby. I know my MIL will be respectful- if anything she’d be even more restrictive and careful than I would be.

my mom tries too hard, smothers me, and makes me feel like a 5 year old. I can't talk to her about anything personal or potentially sad, cause it ends up being about her. example, my Mc, I said something like "at least my baby is in heaven with so and so" her response was "yea! but that's my grandchild" so she doesn't get told shit anymore!
my mother in law, I feel comfortable telling that stuff to, cause I know I'll either get advice, or just a listening ear. none of this "it's all about me" shit.

my wife is super close to my mom and she normally sides with her on everything lol .... my wife's mom isn't ok with her being gay ( we have an almost 9 year old , almost 7 year old and currently almost 36 weeks with our third .... we're married , own our house etc but it's a stage to her etc. so we don't super get along were more fake with ech other I send her pics of the kids and she responds aww so cute but one year told one of her friends that I just lived with her daughter and she was helping me buy my kids christmas because I couldn't afford it ..
