Anyone ever had a chest CT for Pulmonary Embolism?
Hi girls,
Yesterday, I had a chest CT scan done for a possible Pulmonary Embolism. This came back normal thankfully, but today I have been doing some research on the radiation exposure and am starting to freak right out. It is saying that they use a very high dose of radiation that can equal up to 4 years of radiation exposure for one scan! I’m reading about risk of breast cancer and lung cancer. I am completely terrified and wish I would have never got that scan done. I didn’t sleep last night because I was so upset that I had this test done!
Has anyone else had this test? Did your doctors tell you the risk involved? I read the more you have the worse it is, Im wondering what my risk is from having one scan done?
