should faith based healing be legal

CeCelia

So I searched for this topic first and it doesn't look like it's been brought up. So I came across an article of a couple sentenced to prison because they had twin girls that were born premature and one was dying from respiratory failure. instead of calling 911 they tried faith based healing and the baby died 4 hours after birth. This isn't new. I'm sure we've all heard of at least one story of people refusing medical treatment either on themselves or a loved one and it lead to death. But some states (I'm from the US so not sure if other countries do this too) make exceptions to these deaths and abuse because of religious freedom and they get off with no charges at all, whatsoever. I'm personally strongly against this. Do you feel it's an attack on religious freedom to hold these people accountable for the deaths due to their beliefs?
