Do you think it’s ok for a 5 year old to play with make up??

So my goddaughter is 5 and for her little school graduation i got her a gift which was a Barbie make up set since she got the best reader award and she earned it ( very smart for a 5 year old ) so her parents where ok with it they didn’t care because it was child make up for playing. Her grandfather in the other hand was so upset saying you should t be giving her that she’s to young .. I asked her parents before I bought it and they said yes of course its fine ( my goddaughter loves to play make up and dress up ) she loved it ... but do you think it’s to early to give her that type of things on the tag it said 4+ for age and she’s 5 Turing 6 in September so I thought that was a good match .... I thought since it’s kids it wasn’t a big deal 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
