nexplanon???

im getting the nexplanon soon, can everyone give there experience  (weight gain, mood swings, irregular period.)

I personally had a horrible experience with nexplanon. As soon as i got it inserted into my arm I started bleeding, and continued to have my period for 3 months straight. On top of that I had crazy mood swings & fell into such a horrible depression & actually started having many suicidal thoughts. My doctor wouldn't take it out and decided to prescribe me bc pills on top of the nexplanon which only made it worse. I went back and demanded she take it out. She had to use 2 or 3 scalpels and numb me 2 times bc she couldn't find it. It had embedded into my muscle & I almost had to go to the er to get it removed. A friend of mine had it too & it broke while inside of her arm & she got pregnant. Due to complications with the explanon, she lost the baby. I'd advise anyone not to get it, but im sure other women have had good experiences with it, which is great.

hated it!! I bled nonstop with it and also ended up with a pulmonary embolism. I didnt even know that was a risk with birth control. I suggest going with something that's hormone free and such so you're not at risk for a PE. Its life threatening and even tho it's a low risk.. it isnt worth it in my opinion.

Hated it!!! I had to get mine removed by a surgeon. I had to be put under and everything. It got embedded too deep into my arm and after digging around for 15 minutes my regular Dr gave up and told me to see a surgeon. The whole time I had the implant (1.5 years) I was irregular, had horrible acne, and was irritable almost always. Definitely effective as a birth control but the side effects are intense

i overall loved it no weight gain and after the first period they stopped completely the only down side was i think it made my depression worse so had to adjust meds but everyone is different if you dont like it after a few months just have them take it out.

I don’t even know what any of my other side effects were because all I could focus on was the terrible bleeding. I bled for 6 months straight and after that my periods came less often, but lasted twice as long (15 days or so, every 40 days or so) and were just as painful and heavy as before. But i dealt with it the full 3 years because of how effective it is at preventing pregnancy without any effort from me at all. I can’t trust myself to remember to take the pill, put on the patch, or change out a nuvaring. I didn’t like the shot, and I didn’t want an IUD. 
HOWEVER, my best friend also has the nexplanon and she loves it so much she got it replaced at 3 years. No periods at all (lucky duck 😂) and no weird side effects. So I think it really depends more on how it works with your body!

I just got it three weeks ago and it seems fine as of right now. I got my period two days later than normal, but it was relatively normal despite worse cramping. However - I am still spotting pretty bad even though it's the 7th day. I usually don't go past 5-6 days.

terrible!! worse thing ive done! wish i never did it. i didnt want people to know i was on the pill so i snuck it and did it. after 9ish month of being on it i bled more than not. my period was like 3-5 weeks off a couple days and itd start up again. still had to take pills. then i decided to take it out and i HATE the scare from it. they have to cut your arm to take it out. thats my  only scar i hide and its not even that big. i started to regret it as soon as i got it. u dont think about how the scar will look after youre done with it
