Popping baby’s hand
So I’m visiting family and the outlets are very present in the house. A few of them are protected by the outlet covers, but not all of them.
My 8 month old baby is the most mobile and fast child. I watch her while she plays with her toys on the floor, and sometimes she touches the outlets. I say no firmly and move her across the room, but it seems like she somehow always makes it back to them and I can’t seem to contain her 100% of the time. She’s so active and basically loves everything dangerous.
Anyways, I’m against spanking my child (not a debate just my personal preference) but my dad was saying I should pop her hand when she goes for outlets to learn that it’s bad. I don’t want to by any means, and I’m positive she’s too young to learn that something is dangerous anyways, but what do you guys think? Do you gave any ideas other than popping her hand? Because they can’t learn by punishment at that age anyways.
He actually popped her hand once when he was watching her while I went pee and I’m kind of upset by it.
