someone had puppies dropped off at there house and I got one, does he look old enough to be away from his mom?

He is very tiny but if he's a small breed dog then he may very well be of the right age. This was my dog when I got her at seven weeks. I know ideally they should stay until eight weeks or more but the circumstances didn't allow for that. She was extremely small and could fit into one hand. Now as an adult she's still small (only 6kgs).

How old is he? Puppies should remain with his mother till they are anywhere from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. My mom raised dogs for 20 years.

They didn’t tell you his age?? Usually 8-10 weeks they’re weened, we kept our 6 pups until 12 weeks though, and slowly adopted out one at a time with interviews, and adoption fees. Ours had all shots, dewormed, and ready for their new families. They went home with a baby blanket =), because all our pups loved baby blankets.

From first look he appears to be too young, but a vet should be about to give a better estimate. My sister adopted a puppy that it turned out was too young and he is fine. You may need to do some additional work to ensure he grows up heathy.

i voted no but depending on the breed it could be yes. so really i’m not sure. but you need to take him to the vet asap!!! they can check his age, make sure he doesn’t have any parasites or infections, and give you information on how to take care of such a young pup!
