When should I test?

Hey all it’s been almost 3 years since I last TTC and now we are 3 months in to working on #2. I am about 6dpo, I had two Internet cheapies and tested using one yesterday even though I knew it was way too early which was a BFN. (why is the urge so strong?? Lol) I’m holding onto the last one and not letting myself buy anymore for another week. Should I wait until and if I miss a period to test? What do you recommend? My boobs are sore which I did have last time I conceived but also have that every once in a while with AF but usually closer to when it is supposed to start. Baby dust to all!
