Anterior cervix, baby engaged at 33w?

I posted this in the third trimester group, and so far nothing. Have any of you been told you have an anterior cervix? So far what I’ve been reading is that your cervix remains posterior for the majority of your pregnancy, and turns anterior before, or during labor. This morning I was told that baby has dropped and that my cervix is already very anterior and soft, but still closed. I forgot to ask in the moment, but does this mean labor could be soon? Does anyone know about this?
