They took him to the hospital

Within a week my boyfriend stopped treating me like his girlfriend. He started talking to something that wasn't there and would ignore me when I tried talking to him. Today I got my hair done and he normally would comment and say how sexy it was, today I had to mention my hair and he said oh its nice. When we got home he noticed the fun color I got underneath my hair and got some way, came back and said the color tells him I think for myself and how I need to delete social media to be on Gods side with him. I have been texting his mom and the cops brought him to the hospital to check his blood and get him in to see a counselor. He started mentioning religion everyday and how everyone was terrorists and how I was against him. He got down on the pavement and started to pray. I feel guilty for having him be taken away but his mom even noticed how he was being threatening to me. Has anyone experienced this before?
