Miracle baby 💙
UPDATE: Loch was excubated a few days ago and is now on cpap and room air, only requiring extra 02 a few times a day. He has not needed anymore blood or platelet transfussions. He is still on photo therapy for jaundice but doing so good!

On July 10th at 9:49pm my 3lb 2oz, 16.5 inch baby boy was born via emergency c-section at 28 weeks 4 days gestation. He was born with virtually no blood in his body. His hgb was 29 at birth when it shouldve been 180-200 as the result of a fetal-maternal hemorrhage. I had been having decreased fetal movement for over a week and called my doctor on Tuesday evening at 4:30 telling her my concerns, thibking she might have me do a trace before my appointment with her on thursday. She told me to come in then to have a trace done just to put myself at ease because I was only 28 weeks and I wouldnt always be feeling the baby move. I live 2 hours away from the hospital so we arrived around 6:45. They hooked me up to a monitor ans got me to eat a popscicle and drink ice water. There was no variation in the babys heart rate at all so she got an OBGYN to come in and see me. He called the neonatolagist that happened to be in town (usually they dont have one) and he said prep me for surgery. The anesthesiologist medicated me too much and i was unable to talk or swallow my saliva. Once in recovery it took 2 hours before we got to meet our son. They told us another 2 hours in uteroand he wouldve passed away. They told us it was touch and go and they were waiting for life flight to arrive to transport him to a hospital 5 hours away. He had already recieved 2 blood transfussions. Life flight left with our boy at 6am and i was transported that afternoon. Our baby remains in NICU but has been doing better everyday. Today we are hoping for excubation and hopefully finally getting to hold our miracle baby.
