Induction ????

Question

I’m scheduled for an induction this Sunday. I’m 16 and a first time mom, so I’m a bit nervous. I will be 40 weeks and 6 days the day of my induction. Can anyone share their induction stories with me? I’d really like to know your experiences.

I was induced at 37 weeks because my little guy was on the small side and doc thought he would do better on the outside. 
 I’m 33 and my induction was awesome! My body responded very well to the pitocin and I made easy progress. The whole thing took 17 hours but all that was just sitting around waiting. One thing I hated was they used a foley balloon to blast my cervix open from 2 to 4 cm and that hurt! (When we started I was already at 2 so they didn’t use the cervix ripening pill thing.) I highly recommend accepting pain medicine for the balloon and then following with the epidural. I got a shot of fentanyl before the balloon and I could still feel it. Once the cervix opens up, the contractions get real, so have an anesthesiologist ready once they pull the balloon out. The rest was just sitting in bed with my pee catheter, waiting on the big exit. Once the pushing stage came (I had no idea it was even there, the doc checked me and was like.. the baby is literally right there! It’s time to push.. I was surprised because I was just chillin there, relaxing and watching the lion king. Lol
Once the pushing began, it took 4 contractions and he came out in about 10 minuets. It was great.. I felt no pain at all and had no tearing or any injury! I was joking around and having conversation with the nurses and my husband between contractions. I’m hoping for all my deliveries to be this amazing. I may actually induce electively next time... 🤔

I was induced with my son when I was 16! 
I honestly can’t imagine it would’ve been much different than going into labor on my own. I had been dilated some and effaced already so I didn’t have the balloon or cervadil, only pitocin. The pitocin got my contractions going, they stalled, doctor broke my water, they started again even stronger, got my epidural and then they stalled again. They let me sleep but woke me up at a few times to check me, started talking about a c section, I said not yet, they let me sleep again then woke me up saying I’m gonna wanna get ready to push! I pushed and pushed and with the help of forceps he was here! Perfectly healthy, 7 pounds 13 ounces!
I wish I had understood the process better and asked more questions. I felt so young and scared but when I finally saw him I felt no fear at all. Best of luck, you get to meet your baby soon!

I was 22 when I had my first and was induced with pitocin. labor went really fast just over 5 hours, didn't feel any pain until they broke my water, no epidural but I did tear a little couldn't feel it though.

From what I can tell, it’s always the young women that have fast labors and don’t tear!! You got this girl. Just think, everyone’s mom in the world did this and there are many many people in the world. Your body was made for this, just follow your instincts. I was 19 and 21 when I had my first two, 6 and 8 hours, first was induction, second had pitocin, neither had meds. You CAN do this!! ☺️

It’s okay to be nervous just know you’re stronger then you think. I was induced at 36 weeks, I was already 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. They started me off with cervadil, a couple hours later I was at 4cm that’s when they gave me pitocin. I started feeling stronger more painful contractions right away. I asked for an epidural, it was very painful but honestly I didn’t feel anything after I got the epidural. Few hours later I was at 10cm and ready to push, I started panicking because everything was happening so quickly. I didn’t feel anything, no pressure, no contractions, nothing. My doctor had to feel my stomach to let me know when I was having a contraction so that I could push. Pushed for 2 hours, I was exhausted but when I saw my babygirl I forgot everything. I wasn’t scared anymore, and honestly if I could do it all over again I would. It was a beautiful moment that I will never forget. Good luck, I hope you have a smooth delivery ❤️

Mine was kinda of an induction. My water broke but contraction never started. 
I ended up having a c section i stopped dilating at 5cm. 
My son was super healthy and still is. Good luck!
