If your SO came up to you pissed off, and asked you a dumb question like this. 
 “Pick me or your sister.” 
My boyfriend can’t stand my sister, but still I think it’s ridiculous. Honestly I pick my own blood/family. 
I’m seriously mad that he would even ask that.

My response totally depends on why I’m being asked to choose. It’s not as cut and dry as my sister is blood. Blood isn’t always thicker 🤷🏻‍♀️

someone who makes you pick between them and your own immediate family, yeah no. toxic. bye. get you someone who says “oh your sister can come with us, sure!!” and be more than happy about it. 
especially if your sister truly did nothing wrong and he just like doesn’t like her... maybe there’s a reason he doesn’t like her and its because she can see right through his bullshit and she calls him out on it and he thinks he’s going to lose you because of your sister possibly convincing you he’s no good. idk i know you didn’t say why he doesn’t like her but i gave up so many family vacations because my ex didn’t like my brothers or my parents hated him or i was embarrassed to be around him and my family at the same time (drug addict so he’d be nodding off or high or just make a complete fool of himself) and i thought i loved him so much i would chose him over them any day... i missed the death and funeral of my uncle over that. now my husband is the type of person to ask me if i want to go do this or go to that with my brothers and i’m just like, you can!! i don’t want too lol you go hang out with them!! you’ll find someone way better. promise girl.

It would definitely depend on why. If she instigated arguments between the two of them and was trying to come between us, I’d pick my husband. But if he didn’t like her for no reason or a petty reason, of course I’d pick my sister. Totally just depends on who’s in the wrong in the situation.

I never gave my husband an ultimatum, but he understood eventually that he needed to cut ties with some of his family members. But we’re not talking about them just nagging or being annoying; they disrespected my wishes in ways that put my children in danger.
So I think it strongly depends on why you’re being asked to cut ties.
