Is this early labor?

Question

I woke up at 3:30ish with hot flashes and back pain. Went out to the living room to cool down, but I’m having menstrual like cramps in my lower back and occasional tightness in my whole stomach. Should I start timing when my stomach is getting tight? Does this sound like false labor or early labor?

I've had a lot of the same things happening, the back pain, some cramping and even had contractions 4 minutes apart for over 12 hours. You can always start timing and then call to talk to your doctor.. mine have all been false labor or braxton hicks and my doctor was able to say it was likely false labor because I was not super uncomfortable and with contractions 4 minutes apart in real labor, typically you'd be pretty uncomfortable.

Could be. But I’ve been having on and off contractions for 4 days and mine feel like waves. They start slow and work their way up to the top of my belly. You’ll know when it’s real—-I feel it in my groin too. You can almost feel yourself dilating a bit with the contraction. I can still talk and walk through mine and they’ll be 15-20 mins apart and last maybe 3-3 hrs but then stop. The contraction feeling is the same as my first but this 3-4 day thing is different. With my first once they started that was it. This one has had us on our toes the past 4 dAys...🙄Good luck!!!
