I’m sure this has been asked but I’d personally like some opinions from experience! I’m 21, boyfriend is 20 and we’re expecting our first baby this December. When I told me grandma, I fully expected her to bring up marriage, which she did. And since then she keep casually bringing it up. I told her we plan to marry, but are waiting until we are financially stable enough to have a wedding big enough to host our big families! To which she told me that the couple doesn’t pay for their own wedding, that the brides parents pay for the wedding itself and the grooms parents pick up the bar bill.

I’ve always thought you pay for your own wedding, and I wouldn’t ever “expect” parents to pay.
