cold sores

Can a lot of stress cause cold sores? I keep getting them so often now and idk why... I had one for one month then I got another the month after and I just started taking valtrex for it, it goes away quick now I keep getting tingling feeling in my lips everywhere 😫 they are coming way more often than usual.. like back to back I cannot do this!! can stress cause it to come so often? I have been stressing SO much and crying so much.. my brother passed almost a month ago. Ever since I’ve been down and stressed about different things not just that. My nerves are horrible at this point.
