Can everyone tell me their csection stories?!

I’m 38 weeks pregnant, my baby is 9 pounds and 11 ounces and I’m almost required to have a csection. I wanna hear everyone’s stories so I can feel a little more prepared on what it’s gonna be like.

Scary because of the thought of being awake and cut open BUT i am scheduling my next one instead of vaginal (my first attempt was 3 days of labor that ended in csection). Only recommendation I have is don’t baby yourself but don’t push too far, make sure you walk after even when you’re like holy shit I can’t do this, do it. My daughter was in the NICU so I was forced to walk to her and it was the best decision because by day two I was going pretty good.

So they can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do. If you don’t want a csection, say no! Scheduling a csection for a suspected “big” baby is not evidence based and does NOT improve birth outcomes for Mom or baby, it actually makes them worse. I just saw a video of a woman who has a homebirth with an 11lb 6 oz baby and didn’t even tear! Your doctor has no jdea how big of a baby you can deliver vaginally and unless there’s underlying complications it’s extremely rare for a woman to grow a baby she cannot birth vaginally. Further, growth scans are notoriously inaccurate. Do what YOU feel is best after getting accurate information on the risks, benefits etc to you, baby and future pregnancies. I’d also ask your doctor what ACOG recommends (hint, it’s not a csection)

I just gave birth to my son vaginally without pain meds with a big baby. Doc said he was getting big (9lbs 3oz at 39 weeks) so he didn’t want to go too far past my due date. We induced at 40w2d. First step: Foley Bulb induction. Next day: Pitocin to start, then water was broken by doctor. The pushing was a bit challenging because of little guy’s broad shoulders but nothing too crazy.

Mine was unplanned I thought my whole pregnancy I was going to have my daughter vaginally then time passed and she was comfy in there till 42 weeks I was induced and gave pitocin and was in labor with intense contractions for three days every hour of the night they were coming in to check me and being strapped to the bed with monitors it was agony I developed high blood pressure fast so it felt like I was being poked with needles and Ivs every second after days of all types of medicine and the ballon method I was only dilated to 1 !!! I was pissed! They told me my last option was c section and that were the fun begin I was laid on the table scared out my life and then they began to cutt and I screamed in agony cause I could feel everything I started crying begging for them to stop and they called somebody in and put me to sleep my husband had to leave the room it was horrible I couldn’t see my daughter for two hours after she was born till I came to and the first thing I remember waking up to is looking over and seeing my husband crying holding her and she was beautiful I wouldn’t change a thing idc about the pain I was only glad my daughter was healthy

Walk. Walk. Walk. Afterwards. It will hurt, but it helps. And for the love of god take the stool softener religiously. You will thank me later😅 better than spending the day on the toilet crying and giving birth out of your butt.
