Calanthe ❄️

Pronounced: cuh-lan-thee

This is a botanical name meaning “ Christmas Orchid” 😊

Now this has kind of a small story... me and my husband love Christmas... my whole family does, well every Christmas we make a “ wish” its silly but we do it lol, and last Christmas I was struggling with infertility ( and still am) and was praying and wishing for a 2nd baby... fast forward we are now pregnant with a baby girl!!! I am also a botanist... I love flowers and we wanted a botanical name...but also unique... I was searching and most of the “ flower” names were very popular such as Lily, Rose, Violet, etc... and me and hubby didn’t want our baby to be the 5th girl with the same name as everyone else...( even though all are beautiful ) . We kept searching and my youngest ( adopted ) daughter, Lyliea ( 7 years old) came to me and said “ mommy what about the name Calanthe”, I have no idea how she came up with it... but me and hubby looked at each other and instantly researched the name and found the meaning and everything.... it wad perfect!!! We just need to find a middle name that suits it 😊😊

* I’m aware that people might now get the pronunciation right the first time but that doesn’t really bother us, my other daughter has trouble with people messing up her name to but she’s usually happy to correct them.
