My Birth Story!☺️🙏🏾💙 TMI A LITTLE

Hey guys ! I wanted to do my birth story today ! My birth went amazing!!!!!

So before I actually start, I’m going to give you a background about me , I’m 18 years old , and I’m a senior in high school this year , I work at an assistant living place on the weekends.

Okay so I went into work Friday, July 20th at 6pm (I work 12 hour shifts so I didn’t get off until 6am the next day) at around 2am after my nightly rounds , I started to get very intense contractions, but I could still work through them , so I went into the break room and laid on the couch and took a nap , at about 4am I did my last rounds and laid back down , they were still intense and coming more frequently, I wasn’t paying them no attention or timing them because I was scheduled to be induced on the 24th ! At 6am I clocked out of work and drove home , I had a few contractions in between but nothing too bad . I got home got undressed and got in the bed , at 7 I was having contractions that were making me sweat and wake up , I tried to sleep until 10, but then I decided that I may be in labor ! I went to pee and when I wiped I had a bunch of mucous (nothing bloody just a bunch of discharge) I called my mom into my room and told her I was having contractions and I was feeling bad , she told me to get ready because Landen was coming ! I started timing them on my baby center app and they were 5 mins apart and lasted a minute long ! I was so happy! And scared at the same time ! I called the on call doctor at the hospital and he told me to come in! I grabbed the bags and let my mom take me to hospital.

We got there around 11:30 and I checked in . They took me to triage for about 2 hours and checked dilations , I came in at 2cm and by 1:00 I was 4cm! My doctor admitted me and it was on from there ! I got offered the epidural, but turned it down because I wasn’t in much pain yet . (my goal was to do this natural) at 5cm they came in and broke my water and the contractions started getting more and more intense! I was screaming and crying and I just wanted the pain to stop ! The doctor came in to check on me at 6 cm and asked me did I want the epidural again . I screamed yes ! About 15 mins later the anesthesiologist came in and explained the process and talked me through it ! It hurt but having him explain and be patient with me was the best thing ever . I got it put in and laid back . My legs started to go DEAD. I couldn’t feel anything and I was able to take a nap. After I woke up I ate some popsicles and ice until my labor was at 9cm ! I texted Landen’s dad and told him I was going to start pushing. ( we aren’t together anymore so that’s why he wasn’t the one to take me to the hospital) he replied and said he’d try to make it! Side note: he put me through absolute hell my whole pregnancy, him not being there didn’t surprise me! I told him okay and started to focus on giving birth ! The nurse came in and told me it was time to push ! They set up the room and told me to chose who was staying and who was going! My mom, aunt, and sister stayed and everyone else left . The nurse showed me how to push twice and then it was time to really push . At this time it was about 10:00pm.

I started pushing and Landen started coming so quick! I pushed and pushed taking breaks in between for ice because I was so thirsty . The nurse told me to come on because we could have this baby here by 11:00! That was my motivation , I looked at the clock and pushed until I couldn’t anymore! When his head started to crown my sister started crying and she told me omg Lunden he has hair ! I wanted to cry so bad I was just soooo over the moon. I pushed and pushed until the nurse told me to stop and let the doctor come in ! I pushed 3 more times and he was out! I remember my aunt telling me open your eyes! I looked and my baby was screaming and crying and covered in blood , and I was so happy ! I’ve never in my life felt so much happiness! They laid him on me and i was so happy . We locked eyes and he was just screaming and crying ! After a minute they took him away to weigh him and the first thing I said was GIVE ME SOME WATER. My sister got me some and I was so relieved. He measured 21 inches and weighed 7lbs 5 oz ! Sooo healthy ! I’m so happy ! I labored for 12 hours and pushed for 35 minutes! Best labor ever 🙏🏾🙌🏾☺️😍❤️ and I thank god for it .
