I’m 37w1d and my boss is driving me nuts. I just started this job May 30 and we didn’t move into our office until July 1. I have around 250-300 clients on my caseload. It’s like that for all six of us who work there. We have report days throughout the week—which means I have clients reporting between 8-4:30 Mon-fri—days when we’re in court, tons of paperwork to write up (with deadlines), phone calls to return to clients, paperwork to file each day from counseling organizations my clients are going to, and about three cabinets to organize. It’s A LOT. We really all need a personal assistant, but our budget only allows for one secretary for the six of us to share.

I’m trying to get as much finished/organized as possible before I go on maternity leave. I was doing some organizing today and my boss asked me if the paperwork she’d sent me was complete. I told her I had about one more file to do. She told me she wanted that done first, but then complained about how those of us who haven’t alphabetized our filing cabinets needed to hurry up and do it because she was sick of trying to find files. She asked if I was planning on working any overtime and if so I needed to work on my filing cabinet first thing when I came in for overtime. As soon as I sit down to do paperwork, she asks if I can see some other people’s clients because they’re busy.

To top it off, none of us have had any proper training from her, even though none of us had worked in this field before. We’re basically training each other, and when we DO go to her she’ll tell us one thing and then tell us something different later. I’m ready to lose it. My patience is gone at 37 weeks and I’m afraid I’m going to go off one day.

My doctor’s office is also an hour (one way) from work, and she gets a sour, aggravated look on her face when I have to go to a checkup. She’s even asked if I can change a few. I haven’t told her that they plan on inducing me August 14 (if I don’t have him before then) and that I plan on taking 9 weeks off. She wanted me to take six, even though we get 12 with FMLA. I’m so over it....anyone else really pregnant with an annoying boss?
