Did you go to any classes to prepare for child birth?

I didn't with my first and it's actually a huge regret of mine. I didn't know what I was in for, the risks associated with the interventions, or my rights during labour and payed for it dearly with a c section due to poor choices I made/allowed my provider to make for me. I had PTSD, PPD, and didn't bond with my daughter due to the birth. I have spent the last two years learning everything I possibly can on labour and delivery, and I am so much more prepared now. I'm not sure that we're going to do a class this time, but I've bought and read the hypnobirthing books and cds, ina may's guide to childbirth, and have spent so much time on VBAC support groups, researching natural birth, watching birth videos on birthtube, and studying my rights in a hospital setting. It's become such a passion of mine that I'm gearing up to become a doula/childbirth educator on the side, because not enough women know what they need to to make informed choices for themselves, and it's heartbreaking how many women have stories like mine.

No, but my midwife had given me a CD on hypnobirthing for my first, since I refused to attend the classes. Group settings are not my thing.
