Called out of work on my 5th day of working there help

Okay guys. So I got hired at Walmart recently. I’m 19 and working there while I’m in school, which I am still so excited about and I love working here so far!!

Anyways they made the schedule when I got hired without asking me which days I needed to be off. I couldn’t have requested off ahead of time, because I wasn’t working there yet.

Well my dad passed away two weeks ago. His funeral is today. So I had to call out last night because I tried talking to my manager and I explained to her my dads funeral was today and she didn’t really care. She said since I was scheduled I had to come in.

I was originally just going to work.. but idk my dad and I were so close and I just couldn’t miss his funeral.

I felt sick even thinking about missing it.

Well when you call out, you don’t speak to anyone. You just call out on an automatic machine phone call thing.

I go back into work the day after tomorrow and I’m so nervous. I hope nobody is pissed at me or I get fired or anything. Ugh this really sucks!!! I needed to vent because my anxiety is so high
