Anyone elses toddler starting to get picky?

My son usually eats anything! He was offered a huge selection of foods as a baby and all of a sudden he spits out his favorites!!! He has never liked watermelon so I usually only offer it every couiple weeks but he never eats it. But now he doesnt want to eat bananas, bananas were like his favorite food until now. He won't eat chicken, sweet potatoes, applesauce, oranges, scrambled eggs, sausages, and a bunch of other things he use to enjoy! Is this just a phase or what do I do? Does anyone else all of a sudden have a picky eater?

I answered yes, but mine has always been fairly picky. I just keep offering and try my best not to get frustrated, but I often am. 😕 My ped keeps reminding me he eats what his body needs at any given time so he might want a ton of green beans this week, then not want them again until next month because he has gotten all the nutritional needs from them for now. Pretty cool actually!

My daughter is a really good eater but I have noticed when she’s getting a tooth she tends to be a little more picky than normal and not have as much of an appetite. I’m not sure if other babies are that way or if it’s just her.

Do I just feed him what I make or should I be making multiple things and hoping he eats something? He doesn't really talk yet, he asks for milk but can't tell me what he wants....... do I go buy the "if your hungry enough you'll eat what I make" and just hope he isn't going hungry when he doesnt eat.....Or do I make keeping making different things until I find what he wants? Some days I can't even get one good meal out of him....I don't want him to starve but I'm getting frustrated with how much food I'm wasting. We have been eating like grilled hamburgers, chicken, pork chops, hotdogs or steaks since its summer with 2 veggies usually corn, sweet potatoes, baked potatoes, green beans, squash.....he wants nothing to do with any of it! I buy 2 fruits a week, they are always different last week waa blueberries and kiwi he loved both for the first 2 days and now won't touch them. Same with strawberries, peaches, bananas, pineapple.....he eats it for a day and gets sick of it and them I either throw it out or eat it :(

Yes. My son used to eat everything. I mean everything! He still eats a good amount of food choices, but he’s starting not to like some of his favorites like bananas. He doesn’t like carrots anymore or collard greens lol. He’s mostly getting picky about vegetables, which breaks my heart lol. Yesterday, I let him snack on some lucky charms cereal, and he was picking only the marshmallows out to eat lol smh 🤦🏽‍♀️. I guess they are developing their food palate. It’s a part of growing up 😭

Yup. Mine used to love green peas, many other veggies, chicken, and eggs. It's hard to find healthy foods for him now that he is getting picky. He will soemtimes eat things off of my plate with my fork. I've started trying to hide veggies now since he isn't to the point where I can say, "One more bite." etc. So smoothies with spinach, veggie mac n cheese. I need more recipes though! He will eat corn on the cob, but only on the cob!

Yes, this is happening to me (except my son will basically ONLY eat watermelon right now). He was eating everything at first, although he would be randomly picky from time to time. Now he will pretty much only eat fruit, and not even all fruit — no bananas, no apples. No yogurt, no breads, no eggs, no veg, no chicken. It’s really difficult, I get maybe one good meal out of him per day 🤦🏻‍♀️.
