How long does it take for your vagina to heal after giving birth??

With or without a tear. I wanted to know when the doctor says its ok to have sex again after baby is born. Also if you have a c-section, what is the time frame? Thanks!

Have to wait 6 weeks for vaginal and c section delivery. Because there’s risk of infection with both.

I had an episiotomy and never had bleeding after my son was born i got a normal period 4 weeks later. I had sex about 3 weeks after birth. But i was cleared by my midwife.

6 weeks I was cleared for sex, but it still hurt until like 5 months. I had a second degree tear as well. Some people are ready right away and it may take a lot longer for it to feel good again. It just depends.

I had 3rd degree tears I think... haha could have been 2nd. I was not cleared till 8 weeks.

For me 5 weeks after my first and 4 weeks after my second. No tears and easy quick births! (Long labors though lol)

The recommendation is 6 weeks because of the risks of infection we can have!!! I waited a bit longer till i felt my body was ready!

Usually 6 weeks. 
I had a 2nd almost 3rd degree tear and although my dr cleared me for sex at 6 weeks I was no where near ready. It took me 8-10 weeks before sex wasn’t excruciatingly painful
