will this work for first few months??

Question

is this okay for the baby to sleep in for the first few months? I see everyone else using bassinets or something else. I am just second guessing myself cause I dont see anyone else using rockers. I mean the name of the product is Rock 'n Play Sleeper. Help!  Picture of product in comments because it crashes everytime I post.

A firm, flat surface is always recommended, which is why bassinets are popular. Particularly bassinets with mesh sides so there is no risk of CO2 rebreathing/suffocation. 
That being said, many pediatricians recommend the rock n play for sleeping for babies with reflux if they seem to choke while laying flat. Personally I wouldn’t use it unless I knew my baby had a reflux problem, but it’s always best to get your pediatrician’s advice.

My 2 month old will only sleep in the rock and play or in bed with me. Like someone else said, try something else first that is actually recommended for night time sleep, but this is still something you’d be able to use for naps during the day.

It’s not recommended HOWEVER the ONLY thing my son will sleep in is his mamaroo. Otherwise he instantly wakes up and screams for hours. I’ve talked to three different pediatricians and they all okayed us to let him sleep in it until he’s 3-4 months. That’s when they suggested starting to transition to his crib.  I would TRY a cradle/bassinet/crib first. And I mean actually try. If it doesn’t work I’d seek other options such as that item or something similar

My son slept in his for four months. He would not sleep on a flat surface no matter what we tried. We believed he had some silent reflux for most of that time.

mine still likes it but hes too big now lol, it was even better with the legs off, my bed is low and it was too high... he likes his crib now too

My daughter slept in it until she got big enough to roll out of it 
It’s the only place she would sleep in or in bed with me

My nephew would only sleep in that for the first few months. It also helped with his reflux because of the slight incline.
