Job hunt frustrations
My job makes me miserable (I’m a telemarketer and get cussed and screamed at all day) and also works me ridiculous hours. I’ve been looking for a new job for months and haven’t had any luck.
I’m pretty much limited to desk jobs or jobs where I only stand very sporadically because I have fibromyalgia, as well as back, knee, and foot pain that get excruciating. I’m knock kneed and get shin splints just taking a 20 minute shower, so standing 8 hours isn’t an option.
The issue is, I also don’t have a degree. I know a lot of people are going to suggest that I go back to school and work at the same time, but my fibro also doesn’t allow that. With nothing but my job on my plate, I’m already so exhausted that I haven’t even done laundry in over a month, so I don’t see how I’d have it in me to work full time, go to class, then stay up all night doing homework.
I just want a better job. It’s not like I expect some ridiculous salary or crazy position. I just want a receptionist job in a laid back office that isn’t going to stress me out.
