Cord blood banking, what are your thoughts??

Tell me your experiences in the comments.  I’m 12 weeks pregnant with twins(!) and mulling this over.  Wondering how many people actually do it and if anyone has ever used their cord blood.

I did it with my first, and I will definitely do it again. Be sure the OB has experience doing this, or complications may result.

I want to delay cord cutting with both the twins. right to mommy theyll come for skin to skin, I clean well so idk about the goop, until it stops pulsing. :) I dont see the point in taking that awauly from the babies since  I'm sure they'll be small.

Would love to do it but it’s costly and then you can’t do delayed cord clamping.

I didn’t do it with my first and won’t do it with this one. I thought it sounded good in theory, but in the end I didn’t think it was worth it to me. It MAY be useful for something your child MAY get later on (chances of that already being small) but at least when I checked there was no reliable information on how long it actually remains useful when frozen and hardly any success stories of this actually working for someone (I actually don’t remember any, which is of course also related to this being somewhat of a more recent thing). To me that didn’t seem to justify the cost of doing it and paying for storage for years since we knew we didn’t have much extra money. Btw, you can apparently also donate your cord blood and there are cord blood banks that you could turn to if you ever needed it.
