When is a good time to get the Bumbo Seat?

Question

My daughter is 3 months old and loves when someone is holding her to sit up so I wanted to get the Bumbo Seat for her. She can hold her own head up. Any thoughts? Please leave a comment!

Honestly, I think never. I have never seen a baby that actually looks comfortable in one of these. I’ve read that they’re not good for the posture, and babies develop better when learning to sit on their own, without being wedges into a seat that makes them sit up. 
Just google ‘Bumbo unsafe’ and you’ll see a heap of articles written by physio‘ sand paed’s. 
But at the end of the day, it’s your baby, so up to you

If she’s able to hold up her head it’s okay to use. But remember it is for very short amounts of time only.

My son had to have physical therapy for his neck at 5 months and the therapist was saying the bimbo isn’t good for babies because of their posture in it. My cousin is also a PT and said no as well. We got a fisher price sit me up seat and it’s also cheaper and we got so much use out of it!

Never. My neighbour lent us there’s when money baby was born and I sat him in it once. He looked uncomfortable and it didn’t look very natural for him. He was sitting up on his own at 4 months anyway and his legs were too chubby for it by the time I was happy to have him sat in it

Try look up the fisher price sit-me-up chair. It’s only about $30 and we used it every single day from 3-4 months old until my daughter was 7 months! We loved it! I returned the bumbo

I got one at 3 months, but only use it at my parents as a makeshift high chair sort of situation. They’re not really good for helping babies learn to sit! My baby never used one (besides for eating), and she learned to sit up ahead of schedule and for extended periods of time- the doctor was actually thoroughly impressed- I think she did so well because me and my SO we’re just adamant with helping her learn on her own.
