How would you feel

So one of my husbands favorite holidays is the 4th of July. He spent 300 alone on as he throws a party with his family members...I don’t care for the event....not to be petty or anything. But the same month of July we paid property taxes. I took out a loan to pay as I wasn’t working and only had 2 checks left of my old salary...

We have a daughter whose birthday is tomorrow. I’ve been planning a party & looking up somewhere to take her for fun. Well of course were pinch pennies as I finally started working. My issue is WHY is the 4th settled with no issues but not my babies big day? She’s turning 6. I went & got her three gifts she asked for but I feel bad like she’s getting the short end of the stick. I feel like he had no problems making the 4th a big party but now it’s an issue when it’s birthday time.

Should I even tell him how I feel? That I’m disappointed? We had a whole argument over the 4th for two years in a row. I don’t care for his family or to spend that much money & it’s not on our girls. Last year it was $500. Maybe Im over thinking it? What would you do?
