Maybe over reacting but I don’t care.
I am 5 weeks pregnant. I found out a week ago. My husband and I decided to announce to close family. Just parents and grandparents. Well tonight we went to my grandparents and had my daughter in a big sister shirt. However I didn’t know my uncle was there. (Were outside he was inside when we got there). He came out and saw and congratulated us. We made it very clear to everyone that they were not to tell a soul because we had a few others to tell first and then we would do a public announcement after our first ultrasound.
Well. Two hours later I got a call from my mother in law. She said that “I thought you weren’t telling anyone?” Panic started to sit in. “What do you mean?” I asked. She responded “well my cousin just called me and told me congratulations and wanted me to congratulate you”.
My FUCKING UNCLE CALLED HIS DAUGHTER/MY COUSIN AS SOON AS HE GOT HOME. The same daughter/cousin that I cut out because she was toxic and said she didn’t “give two fucks about me” (her exact words). She is going around telling people.
I feel gutted. My husband is pissed off too and we both feel like something was stolen from us.
We had this whole cute announcement planned and now I’m panicking that I won’t be able to tell my other grandparents before they find out from someone else.
I know this probably isn’t that big of a deal, but I’m only 5 weeks. We just wanted the people closest to us to know right now. We just wanted a small support system.
And to top it off, my uncle just sent me a text saying “sorry didn’t know you didn’t want a lot of people to know”. And that was it. WE SPECIFICALLY SAID NOT TO TELL ANYONE.
I don’t understand why people feel the need to share others news.
