Should I let my 1-year-old bring his bunny to daycare?

My son is absolutely in love with his bunny. He drags it around the house by its ears, has slept with it every night (and nap!) for the past several months, and it has gone with him to every "scary" doctor's appointment. Now, for the first time, my son will be going to daycare and will be without both parents all day for the first time in his life. I'm obviously worried about something happening to his lovey, but I can't imagine him going all day without his parents OR his bunny. Any advice or personal experience from parents in similar situations? Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, this is one of those "unique/handmade/specialty" stuffed animals that can't be replicated (yes, I absolutely know better than to buy something like that! A relative is to blame for this situation, lol). These suggestions have inspired me to get the bunny some kind of identification (maybe a shirt or collar?) with my son's name on it. I imagine it's somewhat paranoid of me, but I don't even want to imagine what would happen if we lost it!

I bought two for this same reason! My son has an alligator that he sleeps with at home and plays with constantly. So I bought him another one that stays at school. His teachers put it with his sheets in his bin at the end of nap and I take everything home at the end of the week to wash. I think daycare keeps him so busy he forgets he has it until nap time!

maybe let him bring it at first so hes comfortable and then slowly take it away ( let him bring it every other day, then once a week kinda thing) that way hes not dependent on it

If he only has 1 and it’s his primary lovey I’d probably leave it at home. I have a rule that his panda lovey rarely leaves the house and when it does I keep a very close eye on it. They don’t make his lovey anymore so I’m very paranoid about losing it. My son switched daycares last month, he’s 1, and I let him take a different stuffed friend with him, one he loves but won’t lose his mind if it died (I let him pick which one).

Of course let him take it! Just buy another so he can have one at home if anything happens. It seems to be a big sense of security for him which is important to his little mind.
