Best way to cover up a hickey effectively?

The guy I was with last night got carried away and ended up giving me a deep red hickey on my lower neck. My skin is pale, so it’s quite noticeable. I put ice on it last night and today I covered it with foundation and powder. However, you can still notice the hickey, even with the makeup. It’s summer and I obviously can’t wear scarves or turtlenecks, as that looks a bit off. I’m terrible at makeup and need some advice. What the most effective way to cover up a hickey so that others don’t notice it? Helpp
