Renewed Vigor

Li
Today I have renewed vigor for this journey to pregnancy....much needed. I talked to an old friend from junior high school that I hadn't spoken to for twenty years or more. She's now 44 and has a 9 month old baby. After several failed marriages, she found love and married a younger man and they wanted s baby together. She'd had her tubes tied and burned in her 20s and had to have that reversed/repaired. One tube had a slight blockage. The first MD she went to ran tests and told her that her egg quality was poor so they wouldn't even do the surgery. Then she found another that did do it. She went through IUI and clomid and considered IVF but didn't actually do it. After 18 months, she got pregnant but miscarried.....then six months later boom she got pregnant again. I asked her "what did you do differently"? The first thing she said made a huge difference is that she "Relaxed". In her job she comes across when who have unwanted pregnancies and she would get so angry at them and at God for allowing them to get pregnant when they had no desire for a child, were unmarried, and unemployable ....and she was "doing everything right".
She said one day after praying and basically yelling at God, that she received peace and that she needed to just let it go; that He works in His time. He reminded her of his words that we are to be fruitful and multiply. She said after that she just started to claim his promise and that she would not only become pregnant but that she would have a full term fully healthy baby.
The second thing she said made a difference was Soft Cups. She said after intercourse she inserted a soft cup and elevated her hips for an hour. She also did the usual with OPKs, prenatal vitamins and folic acid. Oh and she drank some sort of tea....which I'm going to find out more about.
Anyway I just wanted to share. At this point I needed to talk to someone that had been through this and God sent her right on time. From this point on, I'll be 100% committed and I refuse to have doubts or let any negativity creep in. Baby dust & blessings to all the women on this journey to pregnancy after 40.
Update: 7/12/17 so it's about a year later. I haven't given up. Now I'm onto IVF with donor eggs. I got in contact with a clinic in Cyprus and they sent a lot of info. Even with the flights, the cost is 1/5 of what my RE in the US charges.
