6 weeks??!!

Right so i had my ears pierced 3 years ago and about a year after the left hole closed up. I went back to the shop today and got it re pierced and didn't hurt nowhere near as bad. The redness and slight swelling has already gone down and I feel no pain whatsoever. The recommended time to keep earrings in for is 6 weeks, before removing them completely or changing them. I have the special after care treatment they gave me, so do I really have to leave them In 6 weeks before changing them? All i wanna so is swap earrings asap, can I do it sooner? x
