Messy husband - clutter clutter clutter

Hi there!

My spouse do vacuum and put stuff in the dishwasher. However, he leaves stuff absolutely everywhere. He takes the was out from the bathroom cabinet, and puts it above the cabinet when finished. He has no issues just leaving stuff on other stuff, like on top off wardrobes, bookshelves, counter tops. When he comes home, he empties his pockets on a tall boy drawer, with dog bags, old napkins, etcetera. He regularly opens the cabinet doors, or other stuff and never close it. This is a minor thing, but it drives me crazy. The clutter builds up in one day, and I can’t take clutter. I need things to be taken away to think. I can’t say anything, because he always tells me I nag when he is tired, or that he vacuumed downstairs, which doesn’t fix the fact that stuff is everywhere.

Anyone else felt like this before? What did you do about it? It doesn’t help that we have two young children that do their part in messing up the house.
