Is it too late for an engagement party??

My fiance proposed on Jan. 1 2018, we didnt start planning until recently, and decided to have the wedding in Feb of 2020. We didnt want to have the party too soon plus I was too busy helping my sister with her wedding, as her maid of honor, to really focus on mine. Anyway, would it be awkward if we had an engagement party now?
