Travel and Long distance relationship

For the last few months I’ve been thinking about travelling more and more even though I’m going next year. Me and my bf are in a long distance relationship already and he wants me to move in before travelling as he thinks it’ll be hard for him as I said to him it could be 9 months or more but I compromised it to be 3 months and then see how I feel as I feel I’ll miss him too much and family and friends too.

But what I’m not sure of is moving in with him before travelling as I feel my money I’ve saved will go towards that and then I’ll have nothing for travelling...

I need advice how are you able to afford rent when you’re away and partner living at home and what’s the best option for me to go by either moving in with him first or travel first
