Virginity disaster (?)

Hey guys, so my boy and I have been together for like 6 months and I finally decided that it’s alright if I lose my virginity, as I trust him and love him enough to do this. So we get prepared and shit, and about a minute into it we notice blood which we both thought was normal. But then I kept bleeding, like, heavily. So we obviously stopped, and I noticed that there was blood everywhere, and I quickly ran to the bathroom to clean myself up while he got rid of his condom and started cleaning his sheets.

I was just wondering if that was normal? I got told that you normally only bleed a little bit, but it was like Niagara Falls down there and I’m just worried that I’ll always be like that.
