When your baby wakes up in the middle of the night but doesn't cry what do you do?

I can hear my little lady yawning and cooing sometimes at night, and I feel so guilty leaving her in the dark. She usually puts herself back to sleep, but sometimes starts to cry.

I usually put her pacifier back in her mouth and wait to see if she falls back asleep

Why would you pick them up if they aren't crying and it's the middle of the night? Nighttime is for sleeping! If she wants me all she has to do is call and she knows it.  I LOVE it when she wakes and goes back to sleep without needing to feed because it happens so rarely 😝

I wait to see if she goes back to sleep. If she starts to fuss I might give her the pacifier. I just don’t want to get up and her see me and want to be held. Unless she is hungry she typically goes back to bed

It depends... when my son wakes up because he's hungry he makes a very specific sound. Not crying, just moving around and making that sound. If I leave him like that for too long he will start crying, so I prevent it by feeding him. But sometimes he wakes up (without making his hungry sound) and is full of energy, squeeking and smiling... in those cases I let him be and eventually he falls asleep again.
