Cry It Out - Did you and how?

Question

We were looking into options to help transition baby to sleeping in her crib now after co sleeping for 11 months. I understand some disagree with CIO method and I'm in between myself, so please don't be rude. I am so willing to hear any opinions/experiences just be respectful in your approach please.❤

When we had our daughter, we never let her sleep with us, but she was in the same room until 9-10 months. It’s rough at first. Kiss and hug your baby then put them down. Go in after 10 minutes or so and soothe them but don’t pick them up. I would only go in once. My sweet babe caught on so fast and now she tells me when she’s ready for bed and doesn’t cry even a little. Stay strong mamma! And it’s okay for you to cry at first too 😘

I followed similar to the baby wise book. Put them in bed, if they cry go in after 10 minutes, kiss,  quietly explain its time for bed. Repeat but leave longer time in between. So 10 min first, then 20, 30 and so forth. I did that for a solid month when my baby was about 6 months old. She is now 17 months and goes to bed like a champion and sleeps about 12 hours. 
Now it’s different for every baby! You have to remember that. Some babies have a harder time learning how to go to bed on their own. don’t give in too much to the crying but remember Some nights your babies really just need to be snuggles. And that’s okay too! But try your hardest to keep a set schedule and that will help your little one know what to expect and have a routine. Some nights it took her 2 hours to go to sleep. But most night I only had to go in once. It’s good to reassure your baby that you are there for them and you explain to them what is going on. They will still cry but eventually they will understand! 
Just be patient and you will do great!

I just kept putting them in their bed and letting them cry. If they aren't old enough to come to you then i check to make sure they are ok and if so i put them back down i don't hold them till they sleep. Honestly my daughter cried for five minutes and went to bed every time now 10 months don't even cry anymore my son alway put up a fight because I thought i could do the always there momma but i started my daughter from birth. Shes just a doll my son is hell lol

We used the “no cry sleep solution” book. Worked just as well as a cry it out method for us, and we will use it again with our new 3 month old when she’s old enough.

I let my baby whine in her crib when I put her down. Sometimes it will last just a couple of whines then she tosses and bit and falls to sleep. Sometimes it turns into a cry and I always respond and soothe her. That’s just what works for our family
