Advise needed

Im married for 5 months now. And 18 weeks pregnant expecting a little girl. This is the First child for the both of us..... husband has sent almost 500 dollars away to family and friends in 3 weeks time for this month alone. I simply ask him why did all of these ppl request money? He looks at me immediately gets defensive and says. "Its none of my business!" And "its not my place to ask that question" is this acceptable in a marriage????
