Please help!! When will my milk come in?

Question

My baby is a week old and my milk has not come in yet. I delivered c section. I put her to the breast first and she barely gets anything. I feed her through a tube against my nipple so she’s stimulating my nipple and getting milk at the same time. I pump 10 minutes after feedings and don’t even get 1/4 of an ounce both breasts combined. 
I’m so worried and want to exclusively breastfeed but can’t get off the formula supplementation because I am not producing enough.

I think that’s plenty for your baby for now! She will want to feed often so just keep filling her up. All the feedings you do will add up to a full tummy.
To really fill her up just let her nurse all day without you stopping her while alternating boobs for a few days and you will see a change in your supply and her behavior.

Your c section has nothing to do with it. Once the baby and placenta are gone, the body knows it is not pregnant, and your hormones kick into gear regardless. Your milk can take up to 2 weeks to fully come in. Remember, with each feeding baby may only get a few milliliters of milk, but much of it in the beginning is colostrum, which is nutrient dense. Even if it's very little, baby is getting the right amount of nutrition. Try pumping or expressing a few minutes after each feed to help stimulate production.

I was so stressed too. It took me about four days. I even supplemented with a bottle one time cause I was so worried she wasn’t getting enough but it finally came it! And everything was good! Don’t stress! It will happen! The stress makes it worse

Don't stress, it makes it so much more difficult. Just go with the flow, if it  comes it comes, if it doesnt it doesnt, it's ok. I'm also a c-section momma, and my milk came in late and on top of that they gave her a bottle right after birth without me knowing it.. (ugh I still get irritated when I think about it) I decided to not care or think about being able to succesfully breastfeed. I just enjoyed her, it wasn't about me anymore, most important thing is that shes fed, it is ok. I nursed her as often as I could, let her sleep besides me, and I would just soak every minute. I think the letting go of all the stress and enjoying her stimulated the hormone and got my milk supply going. At 2 weeks there was no need to supplement with formula. She is almost a year old and we're still breastfeeding 😊

Apparently, it can take longer for Asian women to get their milk to come in according to the LC I saw at the hospital. I’m also Asian and it took me about 4~5 days for me to pump enough to exclusively feed breast milk for my baby. Until then, she was formula fed. Keep at it mama!!

Some women it just doesn’t ever. I did it for 5 weeks my daughter nursed and nursed. I pumped and pumped. Eat special cookies, bars, brownies, oatmeal. In the end my daughter wasn’t gaining. So I decided to formula feed. I had a baby who finally gained. My boobs hurt for 1 day while “drying up” that’s how little I had.

Sometimes with a csection it can take a bit longer for the body to start the milk. 
Maybe continue the supplement as she needs to eat. But continue to pump when she’s having a feed. And anytime she is awake put her on the boob it will help stimulate the milk to come. 
Drink lots and lots of water. Don’t even wait to get thirsty. Eat lots as well. And I noticed for me coconut water and lots of protein help.  
And if you need to give formula it’s no drama hun. As long as your gorgeous bubs is fed and loved all that matters. 😘❤️

Continue putting baby to breast first, and allow baby to use you instead of a pacifier to go to sleep, etc. All that stimulation is great for bringing in the milk.

Could be stress...lack of sleep..maybe u need to eat more..they have tea..cookies and smoothies recipes on Pinterest that increase milk supply..mayne try one or more of those options...usually loacl clinics have phone numbers for lactation consultants
