Circumcision ?

Question

Anyone having a baby boy and not sure whether to get them circumcised? I thought initially I would just let me husband pick, and he’s leaning more towards doing it. However we’ve been having second thoughts. Is it considered old fashioned or cruel now in this day and age? I just don’t want to get it done and then 20 years from now people look back on it and say “wow, I can’t believe people used to do that to their child!”. What are you guys doing?

This is a very controversial subject. Personally, we didn't have my 2 year old circumcised which I don't regret. All I can say is do your research so you feel comfortable with your decision.

I did not circumcise my son it was Mutual decision between me and his dad I watched videos documentaries everything I could possibly watch and decided not to do it. But I know a lot of people that have and I am not against it each is their own. I have had no problem with him i it’s not harder to keep clean like they say and he using bathroom just fine too. But it is really up to you and your husband go with what you want or think

My husband is circumcised and my one year old son is not. We won’t and would never do that. Babies are already so sensitive when they come out and one of the first things that happens to boys is to cut off a piece of his skin that you’ve been growing for 9-10 months? If it wasn’t supposed to be there- you wouldn’t have been growing it. 
I was/an very against it, and my husband understood. It’s not even 20 years down the road and I’m baffled as to why people still do that. There is literally no reason for it to be done.

My ex wasn’t circumcised. He told me that sex was more pleasurable being uncircumcised because an uncircumcised penis is more sensitive since it’s “covered” when not erect. Just throwing that out there since there are other reasons than hygiene. Also, I’ve seen a bad circumcision once (on an adult) and I’d be pissed if my son was left with that.

Not a single pair of parents at my infant care class was going to circumcise their son. I think there has been a tipping point, at least in some social circles.

We are not circumcising our son. My husband is and after doing tons of research realized there is absolutely no reason too. A lot of people will say it’s easier to clean, reduces uti’s and stds but if you look at the numbers you’ll see that only 1% of boys even get uti’s to begin with. 🤷🏼‍♀️ and we don’t cut our little girls for getting uti’s. But definitely do your research and go with what YOU feel is right and what’s best for your family!

We are not circumcising our son. My husband is circumcised but when we were born it wasn’t really a choice, it’s just what everyone did. We weighed the risks and benefits of each and talked to my OB about it. There are definitely positives and negative on both sides. For us the positives of leaving him intact outweighed the positives of circumcising. Like all these mamas have said- it’s up to you and your research. Circumcising someone as a teenager or an adult is pretty awful and hard on them- but at least if we leave it be he will have that choice. If we cut him now there is no going back.
