Breastfeeding after nipple piercings?

My nipples were pierced a little over 2 years ago and have now been out several months. I believe the holes have mostly closed, but not completely. I'm due in Janurary and plan to breastfeed. Will I have any issues?

I was in the same boat. I took them out when I found out I was pregnant but I still have scar tissue (no infection or anything) that comes out every now and again from the piercing holes. I asked my doctor every question possible and we should be all good to go to breastfeed.

I had my nipple pierced for 10 years before deciding to remove it. I started lactating about four weeks ago (I'm 30 weeks pregnant) and the nipple that was pierced seems to produce the same as my natural nipple. I was worried about the scar tissue at first, but it doesn't seem to be bothering anything.

I tried breast feeding, it didn’t work out. How ever! I still am producing a little milk, I only had one nipple Periced and that’s the one that leaks the most. You should be fine. If your worried about it talk to a lactation consultant, hopefully they can help you!
