Cramps

I am 8 weeks 4 days pregnant and last night I kept waking up to horrible cramps. So bad they made me want to throw up. I was sweating and nauseous. They would come and go like contractions. No bleeding. I came downstairs and was tempted to call my OB, but felt that she would just tell me to go to the er. I held off for awhile longer and they went away. Never any bleeding. Could it just be growing pains? I was pregnant 3 years ago with our daughter and never had such bad cramps with her. However I had a c section and I'm wondering if the growing pains are worse because of that.
