Meeting his kid??

I've been seeing this guys for a few months now and I really like him, we get along really well. And we're talking about our future and me moving into his house possibly in the next few months. 
I haven't met his daughter yet, she's 3 and adorable. She seems like the sweetest kid. I'm nervous because I have never been a "kid person" I don't know how to be around babies or kids I always just avoid them because I'm so awkward with them. Not that I don't love babies and want to cuddle or play with them but I've never seemed to be good at it. So I gave up and said when I have my own kids I'll be better, but now I met this guy and he's amazing and has a daughter am I'm worried to meet her and not know what to do or say with her. Any tips on how to hangout with a 3 year old or just some confidence boosters would be really appreciated!!

Best advice is dont try too hard just let it flow find out what she likes as in play dolls or color or blow bubbles or somewhere like a play ground or have ice cream have low expectations and consider any smiles you get a win good luck to you

3 yr olds are fun. Just be a genuine person. My son loves when people ask him questions and play with him. Showing interest in her and what she likes will go a long way.

Honestly, this was me a few years back. I’d never really spoken to a kid- no younger cousins or friends with kids- and I didn’t really think about it much when I started dating my now boyfriend. A few months in, it was his sons 3rd birthday party, and he asked if I would go and meet him. I was bricking it but said yes. 
Well the first time we met, his son cried and ran away and would not come back. I gave him space and we kept trying. Every time we’d hang out he would be pretty angry and upset and I was starting to think that the relationship wasn’t going to work out. Every time I saw him I’d just say hello or ask if he wanted to play or something simple and slowly he came around. 
His dad and I made sure to keep our affections quite minimal at first because his son was obviously jealous and didn’t want to share his dad, but that slowly built up too and now things are so easy. He’s 7 next month and I actually told him about the first time we met just last week. He thought it was hilarious and said it’s funny because he can’t ever remember his life without me in it and that’s awesome because he doesn’t remember when he was mean to me 😂 I’ve always talked to him like I would speak to any adult, because I don’t know how to talk to kids really, and it seems to have done him and our relationship well.
My advise would be to not have any expectations and to not try too hard. Be friendly and playful and kind but if she is a little hesitant then make sure to maintain the same attitude from a distance- don’t get cold or upset or stressed as it’ll put her off even more. Hopefully she will take to you straight away but if not then go forward with baby steps. Ask if you can join in when she’s playing or ask if she wants to help you with/join you playing/show you how to something. Above all else, don’t be fake and don’t overcompensate- kids can smell that stuff a mile off!

I just figured out what she liked (Disney princess’) so would talk about them and she loved to tell jokes. Just be yourself and don’t try too hard you’ll be fine. X
